The Sofraz Tumulus Monumental Tomb, situated within the borders of Üçgöz village in Adıyaman, is a significant archaeological structure reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Commagene Kingdom. Dating back to the 1st century BCE, this monumental tomb is believed to belong to an important member of the Commagene royal family or a high-ranking official. The tumulus is a large mound of earth piled up by human hands over a natural hill, containing a monumental chamber or chambers where the deceased was buried and funeral ceremonies were held. Such structures are an indicator of the death cult and the importance given to ancestors in the Commagene Kingdom.
