Description

One of the oldest and most vibrant bazaars in Adana, particularly famous for its coppersmiths, handicrafts, and Adana kebab shops.

Story

Kazancılar Bazaar is one of the oldest and most vibrant commercial areas in the historical center of Adana. It gets its name from the cauldrons and copper craftsmen that were once abundant in the market. This bazaar, whose origins date back to the 17th century, has been the economic heart of the city where cotton, grains, spices, and handicrafts have been bought and sold for centuries. Although the bazaar has partially lost its primary function with the Republican era and modernization process, it has recently revived, especially with the gastronomic culture in recent years. Today, alongside traditional shops in Kazancılar Bazaar, famous Adana kebab restaurants serving kebabs and liver from the early hours of the morning line the streets. This bazaar offers an authentic experience that presents Adana's commercial history, street flavors, and the vibrancy of daily life together. Its proximity to the Great Clock Tower and historical mosques makes it an indispensable part of the city.
