Description

The historic stone bridge located over the Zamantı River near Aladağ.

Story

The Little Zamantı Bridge is located in the mountainous area of the Aladağ district, over one of the challenging branches of the Zamantı River. Although the exact date of the bridge's construction is not known, it is believed to be part of the Ottoman-era transportation network in the region. This area was on important caravan and migration routes connecting the high parts of the Taurus Mountains to the Çukurova Plain. The bridge, with its single arch, tall feet, and solid stone craftsmanship, reflects the engineering skills of that era. Used by the local people for centuries, the bridge has been a silent witness not only as a crossing point but also as a host to local stories and cultural memories. Today, it attracts the interest of nature walkers and history enthusiasts, blending with the surrounding natural beauty (pine forests and clear river water).

Visit Tips

  • The area around the bridge is free; it can be visited all day.
