Amasya's King Rock Tombs, carved into the foothills of the majestic Harşena Mountain overlooking the Yeşilırmak Valley in the heart of Amasya, are among the most striking historical structures that form the city's silhouette. These monumental structures, believed to have been built between the 3rd century BC and the 1st century AD in Amasya, the capital of the Pontus Kingdom, were designed as eternal resting places for kings and important statesmen.
