Located in the heart of Ankara, in the Altındağ district, the Historical Karacabey Bath is an important example of civil architecture that bears witness to the city's rich history. Built in 1440 by Anatolian Beylerbeyi Karacabey, this bath is a beautiful representative of early Ottoman architecture. The structure embodies all the features of classical Ottoman bath architecture. Consisting of cold, warm, and hot sections, the bath is one of the finest examples of traditional Turkish bath culture. While the hot section of the bath stands out with its domed structure and navel stone, the cold section offers spacious areas for relaxation and conversation. The cut stone masonry used in the construction of the building reveals the aesthetic understanding and construction techniques of the period. Having served the people of Ankara for centuries, the Karacabey Bath has largely preserved its original texture despite undergoing various restorations over time.
