Description

A meaningful monument and museum built in Ankara to commemorate our citizens who were martyred during the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.

Story

The July 15th Martyrs' Monument was built to commemorate our heroes who were martyred during the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, one of the most important turning points in the history of the Republic of Turkey, and to pass on this resistance to future generations. Located in the Yenimahalle district of Ankara, this monument is not just a structure, but also a symbol of national unity and solidarity, upholding democracy, and love for the homeland. The architecture of the monument has a simple yet impressive design, befitting the sacred memory of our martyrs. The monument complex, spread over a large area, includes memorial walls inscribed with the names of our martyrs, symbolic sculptures, and information panels that help visitors better understand the events. Visitors to the monument encounter visual and auditory materials about the events of the night of July 15, which allows them to feel the atmosphere of that moment more deeply. In the museum section, details of the struggle against the coup attempt, personal stories of our martyrs, and photographs and documents from that night are exhibited. These exhibitions reveal the events of that dark night in all their starkness and democracy...
