Soğuksu National Park, located in the Kızılcahamam district of Ankara, is one of Turkey's first national parks. Declared in 1959, this park is particularly notable for its black vulture population, endemic plant species, and geological formations. The park's history is also intertwined with the region's rich past, extending from the Hittites to the Roman, Byzantine, and Seljuk periods. However, the park's importance primarily stems from its natural values. The hot and cold water springs within it gave the region its name and have hosted those seeking healing for centuries. The Kızılcahamam thermal springs are famous for their healing waters known since the Roman period, and the park is part of this natural wealth. The park's natural structure consists of volcanic rocks, forests, and valleys. Especially black pine and Scots pine forests cover a large part of the park, and these forests host many wild animals.
