Story
Tulumtaş Cave is a natural cave located in the Karayatak area of Ankara's Gölbaşı district. Discovered in 2009 during the construction of the Ankara Ring Road, the cave remained hidden for many years and, with this discovery, provided important clues about the region's geological and touristic potential. The cave's formation occurred over millions of years through the erosion of calcareous terrain by groundwater. Housing stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and dripstone formations of various sizes and shapes, the cave is truly a wonder of nature. Especially the aesthetic appearance of the stalactites and stalagmites in some galleries offers visitors a captivating atmosphere. Tulumtaş Cave, which created great excitement upon its discovery, was opened to visitors in 2022 after extensive scientific studies and preparations. The balance of temperature and humidity inside the cave is of great importance for the preservation of its formations. Special walkways, lighting systems, and information panels have been arranged inside the cave to provide a safe visiting experience for visitors. The cultural significance of the cave is not limited to its natural beauty; it also sheds light on the geological past of the region...
