Description

It is a natural cove and beach resort known for its long sandy beach and calm sea, surrounded by pine forests.

Story

Adrasan Bay, located on the coast of the Adrasan neighborhood, which is part of Kumluca, is one of the most talked-about hidden paradises in recent years, featuring a beach that stretches over two kilometers and a calm sea. This wide bay, surrounded by mountains on three sides, often offers a tranquil sea like a lake due to its sheltered structure against winds coming from the north and west. In the morning hours, the water appears like glass, transforming into various shades of blue and green as the day progresses. The pensions, small hotels, and family-run restaurants lining the coast make Adrasan attractive for those seeking a more intimate atmosphere away from large resorts. The area around the bay is covered with pine forests; thanks to hiking trails and sections of the Lycian Way, nature lovers can experience both sea and forest views within a few hours. Adrasan is also an important departure point for boat tours; excursions to nearby pristine bays, especially Suluada, have further increased the bay's popularity. Although a forest fire in the region in 2015 caused significant damage to the area behind the coast, subsequent afforestation efforts and nature's own regenerative power have allowed the region to turn green once again. The locals say that the name Adrasan means "Land of the Great Mother" in an ancient language and believe that there is a protective spirit here. The light created during sunset in the bay, especially when viewed from the sea, accentuates the contours of the mountains, producing postcard-worthy images. As you walk on the beach, the sound of the fine pebbles beneath your feet merges with the gentle sound of the waves hitting the shore; time seems to flow a little more slowly.

Visit Tips

  • In the village, there are public beach areas and paid sunbed-umbrella sections together; you can choose according to your budget.
  • The sea is quite calm and shallow, making it suitable especially for families with children; however, attention should still be paid to boat traffic during the day.
  • During the summer season, weekends get crowded; for a more peaceful experience, weekdays or off-season periods are ideal.
  • The number of ATMs in the area may be limited; having some cash on hand will make things easier for you.
