Story
Dokumapark was established on the land of the Dokuma Factory, which was formerly a textile factory belonging to Sümerbank, located in the Kepez district of Antalya. This factory began operations in the 1950s as an important part of Turkey's industrialization drive. For many years, it made significant contributions to Antalya's economy and employment, and also played an important role in the region's social and cultural life. However, with privatization processes in the early 2000s, the factory closed down and its land became idle. Through projects led by the Kepez Municipality, this historic industrial area has been transformed into a modern city park and cultural center. During the transformation process, the original buildings of the factory were restored and given cultural functions such as a museum, library, and art gallery. With the addition of large green areas, walking paths, children's playgrounds, and recreation zones, Dokumapark has become a popular destination for residents of Antalya and visitors alike, thanks to both its natural beauty and cultural richness.
