Story

Geyikbayırı is a world-renowned sport climbing area located within the borders of the Konyaaltı district of Antalya. The limestone cliffs, formed over thousands of years, offer hundreds of climbing routes with varying inclines and difficulty levels. Since the 2000s, the region has attracted the attention of foreign climbers and has gradually become an important spot on international climbing maps. Today, Geyikbayırı is considered one of the largest outdoor climbing gardens in Europe. The natural structure of the area, particularly the crack-like surfaces created by the erosion of limestone and the existence of cave-like formations with ceiling structures, provides climbers with a unique experience both technically and aesthetically. The campsites, bungalows, and small cafes within the valley create a warm environment where climbers can gather and socialize. Athletes who come here climb the rocks in the mornings and chat around the campfire in the evenings. According to a local legend, the area is named "Geyikbayırı" due to the wild goats that roam the valley; some climbing routes still follow the old paths of these goats. Geyikbayırı offers routes suitable not only for professionals but also for beginner climbers. For this reason, thousands of athletes from both Turkey and around the world come here throughout the year. Thanks to its proximity to the center of Antalya, even those staying in the city can easily experience climbing. This unique area, where nature and sport intertwine, is also ideal for hiking, photography, and camping activities. The cool breeze blowing through the valley provides refreshment even on hot days in Antalya.
