Story

Uçansu Waterfall is an impressive natural beauty located in the rugged geography of the Taurus Mountains within the Gündoğmuş district. The waterfall, which offers different atmospheres in both summer and spring, derives its name from the appearance of the water seemingly flying, depending on the force of its flow. The snowmelt that forms the source of the waterfall creates a vigorous flow in the spring months, while even in the summer, the peaceful atmosphere created by the sound of the cool water makes the area unique. The rocky and forested area surrounding Uçansu Waterfall has historically been part of the Yörük migration routes, and as a result, it has inspired various legends among the local people. The most well-known of these is the love story of a Yörük girl who hid in a cave behind the waterfall while her lover searched the mountains for days to find her. The cave is indeed a small opening accessible from behind the waterfall, and visitors can pass through this natural compartment behind the water to experience something truly unique. The area where the waterfall is located also offers great photo opportunities for nature photographers. Even in the summer, the surroundings are cool, and sitting near the water while feeling the chill of the fine mist rising from the waterfall provides visitors with great relaxation. Due to the general structure of the region, the roads can be winding and challenging; however, it is an ideal route for those who want to be completely alone with nature. Being far from crowded tourist areas, the silence and natural integrity are among the most prominent features of Uçansu.
