The Perge Nymphaeum Monumental Fountain is one of the important structures of the ancient city of Perge, located in the Aksu district of Antalya. It is situated at the foot of the acropolis, on the colonnaded street, which was the city's main thoroughfare. Built during the Roman Imperial period, this fountain not only met the city's water needs but also attracted attention with its architectural splendor. The Nymphaeum takes its name from the Nymphs, water spirits, and is generally used for monumental fountains built to emphasize the sacredness of water sources. The Perge Nymphaeum had a two-story facade and housed statues in its niches. Although most of these statues have not survived to the present day, fragments and architectural remains found during excavations reveal how magnificent the structure once was. The fountain's water was supplied through aqueducts coming from the mountains north of the city. The overflowing water from the Nymphaeum flowed into a water channel extending along the colonnaded street, distributing it to other parts of the city.
