Description

The pristine island famous for its turquoise sea and white sandy beach off the coast of Adrasan.

Story

Suluada is a small but very impressive island located in the middle of the Mediterranean, famous for its white sandy beach and turquoise waters. The island gets its name from the natural freshwater springs found within it. Known as Krambusa in ancient times, this island was particularly used as a water source by sailors. Fishermen living in the region would fill their boats' drinking water tanks from the springs of this island before embarking on long voyages in the past. Today, Suluada can only be reached by boat tours, which helps preserve the island's unspoiled character. The coastline of Suluada is one of the cleanest and clearest spots in the Mediterranean. Underwater visibility often exceeds 20 meters, providing a unique experience, especially for snorkelers. The western side of the island is notable for caves and hollows formed by wave erosion, while the eastern coast features a white sandy beach reminiscent of the Maldives. The sand on this beach is entirely natural, formed by the physical erosion of volcanic rocks on the island over the years. In the area where the freshwater spring mixes with the sea, the water temperature suddenly drops, creating a slight chill while swimming. According to legends, in ancient times, Suluada was a sacred resting point where sailors sought refuge during bad weather. Today, the island's pristine structure, impressive geological formations, and clear sea make it one of the most special nature routes in Antalya.
