Story

The Suna and İnan Kıraç Kaleiçi Museum, with its structure that houses a traditional Antalya house on one side and an old Orthodox church on the other, is one of the places that best reflects the multicultural fabric of Kaleiçi. The complex, restored by AKMED under Koç University, offers a unique museum experience both architecturally and in terms of content. As you step into the courtyard, the stone-paved floor, wooden bay windows, and interconnected spaces greet you with the atmosphere of a typical Antalya mansion. The objects displayed within the mansion create a rich collection of everyday items, traditional clothing, wedding rituals, and folk beliefs gathered from different regions of Anatolia. Thus, the museum transcends being a classic "showcase of artifacts" and transforms into a storyteller inviting you to the scenes of Anatolian cultural history. Another significant structure within the complex, the Aya Yorgi Church, sheds light on the Greek-Orthodox heritage in Antalya through its exhibitions and architecture.
