Tazı Canyon, located in the Manavgat district of Antalya, is a deep and impressive natural formation created by the Köprüçay River.
Story
Tazı Canyon is a natural wonder located at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, within the borders of Köprülü Canyon National Park, formed as a result of geological processes spanning millions of years. The formation of the canyon began with the Köprüçay River eroding calcareous rocks, and this process has continued to this day. The strong current of the river and the erosion that occurred over time have revealed the steep slopes and unique geographical features of the canyon. The depth of the canyon exceeds 400 meters in some places, giving it a magnificent appearance. The rock structure in the region has played an important role in determining the characteristic features of the canyon. Especially durable rocks such as limestone and dolomite have resisted the erosive effects of the river, allowing the canyon to take its current form. Tazı Canyon also hosts rich biodiversity. The microclimate of the canyon offers suitable living conditions for many plant and animal species. Wild goats, foxes, eagles, and various endemic plant species live in this region. The forested areas around the canyon consist of Mediterranean maquis vegetation and Calabrian pine forests...
