Story

Üçoluk Plateau is one of the most preferred plateaus for those wanting to escape the heat of Kemer and reach the coolness of the mountains. With an altitude of around 1500 meters, the plateau has a cool climate even during the hottest periods of summer, and it is known for its wide plains covered with pine forests and clean air. The region holds cultural significance due to its historical location on the migratory routes of the Yörük people. The Yörüks would take their animals to plateaus like Üçoluk to graze in the cool pastures during the summer months, often staying here with their families for months at a time. Although this migration tradition has largely diminished today, it is still possible to see small family-run businesses, traditional houses, and tents set up during the summer in the plateau. Surrounded by cedar and pine trees, the plateau is also quite popular among campers. At night, the air cools down, the sky darkens, and the stars appear with extraordinary clarity away from the city lights. For this reason, amateur astronomy enthusiasts often visit Üçoluk. Additionally, the area offers ideal terrain for mountain biking trails, trekking paths, and nature walks. According to a legend told among the local people, it was once believed that forest spirits lived in this region of the Taurus Mountains, and the Yörüks, gathered around the fire at night, would tell their children stories about these spirits. Today, Üçoluk Plateau is an excellent escape point for those looking to get away from the noise of the city, connect with nature, or breathe in clean air.
