Sveti Church, located in the village of Seyitler in Artvin, is a structure of great historical and architectural importance. Although there are different views regarding the exact construction date of the church, it is generally accepted to be dated to the 9th or 10th century. As a reflection of the cultural changes the region experienced throughout history, the church may have served different functions in different periods. The structure particularly bears the characteristic features of Georgian architecture. Built with ashlar masonry, the church has a rectangular plan, with its apse section being pentagonal from the outside and semicircular from the inside. Although traces of frescoes are found in the interior of the church, they have been damaged over time. The niches and arched windows seen on the walls reflect the architectural understanding of the period. The roof of the church is covered with a barrel vault system.
