Emine's family, believing Hasan is not worthy of her, gives him a difficult task: they ask him to carry a sack of salt on his back from Zeytinli to the mountain. Hasan accepts this challenging task due to his love for Emine. However, on the way, he becomes exhausted due to the weight of the salt sack and the hot weather. When he reaches the edge of the pond, he can no longer endure and falls into the pond, drowning. When Emine finds Hasan's lifeless body, she experiences great sorrow and also throws herself into the pond. This tragic story led to the pond being named 'Hasan Boğuldu' (Hasan Drowned).
