Located within the borders of Kuşburnu village in Bingöl province, Zağ Caves are an important part of the region's natural and cultural heritage. These caves are situated approximately 2 kilometers southwest of Kuşburnu village, on steep slopes. The formation of the cave system is directly related to the geological structure of the region and occurred as a result of thousands of years of natural processes. Zağ Caves stand out not only for their natural beauty but also for having hosted human settlements in the past. Traces of ancient life and some simple carved shapes can be seen inside the caves. This indicates that the caves were used by humans for shelter, refuge, or storage purposes since prehistoric times. However, detailed archaeological studies on the exact period of these settlements and the cultures they belonged to have not yet been sufficiently carried out. Therefore, definitive information about when and how intensively the caves were used is limited. The internal structure of the caves consists of chambers and galleries of different sizes.
