Han Hamam, located in the center of Bitlis, is one of the important civil architectural structures of the Ottoman period. Although the exact construction date of the building is unknown, it is thought to date back to the 16th or 17th century, considering its architectural features and the materials used. The hamam's heating system was underfloor heating (hypocaust), with hot air channels circulating within the walls and under the floor to heat the hamam. Water was supplied from nearby water sources. Han Hamam served the people of Bitlis for many years, playing an important role in the city's social and cultural life. Although the partially surviving structure has undergone various repairs over time, it has largely preserved its original architectural texture.
