Story
Sülüklü Lake, located within the borders of the Tavşansuyu district of Bolu province, is a landslide dam lake formed as a result of tectonic movements. The lake and its surroundings, covering an area of approximately 17 hectares, were declared a Nature Park in 2011 and taken under protection. The lake's name comes from the abundance of leeches it once harbored; however, the leech population has decreased today. Sülüklü Lake offers a peaceful environment to its visitors with its dense forest cover, rich vegetation, and wildlife. Especially in spring and autumn, its nature, which turns into a riot of colors, offers unique views for photography enthusiasts. The surroundings of the lake are an attractive destination for nature lovers with its walking trails, picnic areas, and camping facilities. Within the nature park, in addition to tree species such as oak, beech, hornbeam, and pine, various herbaceous plants and endemic species are also found. The park, which is also rich in wildlife, allows observation of mammals such as bears, wolves, foxes, wild boars, and many bird species. Sülüklü Lake is also an important area for bird watching. The clear waters of the lake create a fascinating view with the reflections of the surrounding forests. Visitors, by the lake...
