Story

Yedigöller National Park, nestled in the green heart of the Black Sea region within the borders of Bolu's Mengen district, is one of Turkey's most renowned and visited natural beauties. This area gained national park status in 1965, protecting the impressive forest ecosystem and geological formations of the Western Black Sea Region. The national park is named after its seven large and several small lakes, which are either interconnected or independent: Büyükgöl, Seringöl, Deringöl, Nazlıgöl, İncegöl, Kurugöl, and Sazlıgöl. These lakes are natural landslide-dammed lakes, each possessing its own ecological balance. The park stands out with its rich vegetation; it hosts numerous tree species, predominantly beech, hornbeam, oak, alder, black pine, and fir. Especially in autumn, when the leaves of the trees transform into a spectrum of yellow, red, orange, and brown tones, Yedigöller becomes a riot of colors, offering unique landscapes for photographers. Rich in wildlife, the park allows observation of mammals such as bears, wild boars, foxes, wolves, and squirrels, along with many bird species.
