Story

Neşetsuyu Nature Park is one of the most popular areas of Belgrade Forest, particularly gaining fame for its running and walking trails. Named after the natural water source in the forest, the area has been a weekend gathering point for the people of Istanbul since the mid-20th century. However, its true fame began in the last 30 years with running groups and sports communities actively using it. The most important feature of the Neşetsuyu track is that it offers a regular 6.5 km running path entirely on natural ground within nature. This route is ideal for both amateur and professional runners. Thanks to a large portion of the trees being plane, chestnut, oak, and hornbeam species, it provides a shady environment throughout the year. Therefore, a cool atmosphere is felt even in summer. Ecologically, the region is quite rich. Ponds, puddles, and stream beds host many bird species. The misty and quiet state of the forest in the early morning hours is especially preferred by photographers. In the history of the region, there are small waterways that are part of the old Ottoman dam system; these water channels have flowed from within the forest towards the city for centuries. Neşetsuyu Nature Park holds unique value for those who want to do sports intertwined with nature within Istanbul.
