Ceyhan Stone Bridge (Historic Ceyhan Bridge) is an important historical structure located within the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş, spanning the Ceyhan River. Although no inscription survives, its architectural characteristics and regional historical records suggest that the bridge was originally constructed during the period of the Dulkadirid Principality and later repaired and reinforced in the Ottoman era. With a length of approximately 158 meters and multiple pointed arches, the bridge stands out as a significant example of regional stone-bridge engineering and craftsmanship. Historically, it served as a major crossing point on the Maraş – Göksun – Elbistan route, facilitating the movement of trade caravans, local residents, and military units. Its strong arches were designed to withstand river floods, reflecting the technical knowledge and practical design approach of its time. Beyond its functional role as a transportation structure, the bridge also influenced the social and economic life of the surrounding settlements. Today, the bridge is closed to vehicle traffic and is mainly used for walking, sightseeing, and photography.
