Ince Minareli Medrese (Stone and Wooden Artifacts Museum)
Description
Ince Minareli Medrese is an important Seljuk-period madrasah in Konya and today functions as the Stone and Wooden Artifacts Museum.
Story
Ince Minareli Medrese was built in the 13th century during the reign of Kaykaus II and is one of the most remarkable examples of Seljuk stone and brick decoration. Its richly carved portal, kufic inscriptions, and geometric motifs reflect the aesthetic understanding of the period. The building continued to be used during the Ottoman era and was later restored in the Republican period, becoming the Stone and Wooden Artifacts Museum. The museum exhibits wooden doors, minbar elements, inscriptions, and architectural stone works from the Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Visitors can explore both the architectural character of the medrese and the development of Anatolian art history through the displayed objects. Today, Ince Minareli Medrese remains one of the symbolic cultural landmarks of Konya.
