Located in the Dargeçit district of Mardin, Boncuklu Tarla Neolithic Settlement is one of the important archaeological discoveries of Southeast Anatolia, shedding light on humanity's transition from hunter-gatherer to settled life. Unearthed since 2012 as part of the Ilısu Dam rescue excavations, this settlement is contemporary with well-known Neolithic centers such as Çayönü, Göbeklitepe, and Hallan Çemi, holding critical importance for understanding the region's cultural development. Boncuklu Tarla has a deep-rooted history dating back to approximately 12,000 years ago, between 10,000 BCE and 7,000 BCE.
