This area was historically known as Kanytelis and was influenced by Lycian, Persian, and Roman cultures. The most striking feature of Kanlıdivane is its ancient city remains built inside a natural sinkhole approximately 130 meters in diameter and 70 meters deep. Excavations have revealed theaters, water cisterns, and necropolis areas. The settlement forms a unique archaeological site due to its natural formation and historical relics. It has been an important center for ancient roads and trade, supported by surrounding agricultural lands.
