Çiseli (Karaoluk) Waterfall
Description
Çiseli (Karaoluk) Waterfall
Story
Although located relatively close to Ordu city center, Çiseli Waterfall, which suddenly takes visitors to a completely different universe, a 'hidden paradise', is located within the boundaries of Karaoluk village in Altınordu district. This natural wonder, which takes its name from the misty and drizzly-like air created by the falling water, is one of the Black Sea's most popular and most photographed natural areas. The waterfall, falling from approximately 10 meters height, creates a deep and clear pond beneath it. When the emerald green color of this pond combines with the shadows of the surrounding massive trees reflected in the water, a fairy-tale landscape emerges. The waterfall's surroundings are surrounded by beech, oak and hazelnut trees unique to the Black Sea, offering a different richness of vegetation in each season. Çiseli Waterfall is a natural cooling oasis especially for local people and tourists sweltering from the heat in summer months. Swimming in the pond where the waterfall falls is a unique experience meeting the ice-cold fresh waters coming from the Black Sea's mountains. The texture of the rocks over which the waterfall flows has been smoothed by the water's flow and gained an aesthetic form. This is not only a water source but also an ideal discovery route for nature enthusiasts with its surrounding hiking trails. While walking on the trail paths, the bird sounds coming from the depths of the forest and the rhythmic splashing of water offer visitors an almost meditative environment. This stream, which has been a source of life for the region's villages throughout history, has become one of the most important stops of ecotourism today. Çiseli Waterfall also promises frames with very high 'instant' value for photographers with the fog descending on the valley in the early morning hours and light beams filtering through the trees. The flatlands right next to the waterfall are also quite suitable for a peaceful picnic or camping experience. However, the waterfall's true charm lies in its unspoiled, pristine nature. Visiting here means purifying from all the pollution brought by modern life and reconnecting with nature in its purest form. This journey combined with Karaoluk village's warm atmosphere is a candidate to be one of the most unforgettable memories of your Ordu travel.
Visit Tips
- The waterfall's pond has suitable depth for swimming; however, we remind that the water is quite cold and recommend bringing swimsuit/towel with you.
- Since weekends can be quite crowded, prefer weekdays to be alone with nature and take calmer photos.
- The trail path to the waterfall may be a bit sloped and dirt; wearing sports shoes will be beneficial to facilitate your walk.
- Since the area is within a village settlement, it is recommended that you meet your food and beverage needs before setting out or bring them with you.
