Turnasuyu Valley

Story

Turnasuyu Valley, hosting one of the Black Sea's most untouched and longest nature hiking trails, is the peak point of Ordu's biological diversity and natural beauty. This valley, created by Turnasuyu River carving through mountains over millions of years, has a length of approximately 60 kilometers and extends from Altınordu district into the depths of the mountains. The valley's most characteristic feature is its crystal clear river and the massive rock blocks, small waterfalls and natural ponds formed around this river. The trail extending along the valley contains sections appealing to nature hikers of every level, while it is considered one of the best trekking routes in Turkey for real adventure enthusiasts. While walking in Turnasuyu Valley, you find yourself inside a forest fairy tale. The Black Sea's typical humid forest texture combines here with giant pine trees, beech trees and moisture-loving vegetation to create an oxygen store. The geological formations encountered along the way, such as 'Girls' Rock' that became the subject of legends, add a mystical air to your journey. The smooth stones in the riverbed and the tiny waterfalls created by water filtering through rocks are like a natural symphony accompanying you along the valley. While the river, roaring with melting snow in spring months, transforms the valley into an adventure difficult to cross; the waters calming by late summer give visitors the opportunity to walk in the river and rest in cool ponds. The valley, which is also quite valuable biologically, hosts many endemic plant species and wildlife species. The fact that it has been largely protected from human intervention despite being right on the city's edge makes Turnasuyu Valley one of Ordu's most precious nature reserves. The old mill remains and local stone bridges you encounter during walks in the valley offer clues about the region's past rural life. Turnasuyu Valley is not just a walking area; it is the most beautiful reminder of the perfect balance that earth, water and green establish with each other, and that humans can only be guests to this balance. This is a true nature temple that promises a new discovery at every step, a new view at every turn.
