Story
Savranda Castle was built at a strategic point overlooking the Savrun Stream valley within the central district of Osmaniye. Throughout the Middle Ages, it served to defend the region and control key transit routes. Constructed using rubble and cut stone, the fortress features thick walls and observation points that strengthened its defensive capacity. The castle underwent various repairs over time and was actively used during Byzantine, Islamic, and local beylik periods. Today, remaining walls and ruins offer insight into medieval military architecture. With its natural surroundings and valley views, Savranda Castle holds an important place in Osmaniye’s historical heritage.
