Story

The Guzelce Hasan Bey Mosque is an important Ottoman monument located in Hayrabolu, Tekirdağ. According to its inscription, it was built in October 1499 by Guzelce Hasan Bey, known as the son-in-law of Sultan Bayezid II. The square-planned prayer hall, the strong wall structure supporting the dome, and the balanced but modest façade reflect the architectural character of the early classical Ottoman period. The combined use of stone and brick demonstrates the craftsmanship of the era, while the overall exterior composition gives the building a solemn and dignified appearance. Inside the mosque, the mihrab and wooden minbar stand out as elegant examples of local workmanship.
