Sera Lake Nature Park lies in a narrow valley about 10 kilometers from Trabzon city center, in the inner parts of the Akçaabat district. From a geological perspective, the lake is a young barrier lake that formed in the 1950s when a large landslide on the valley slope blocked the stream bed.
